John Lee Hooker – Burnin’ LP NEW IMPORT
John Lee Hooker – Burnin’ LP
NEW. SEALED.
Charly Records
2021 restock. Charly Records present a reissue of John Lee Hooker’s Burnin’, originally released on Vee Jay Records in 1962. Burnin’ is easily one of the best records, next to It Serves You Right To Suffer (1965) and I’m John Lee Hooker (1959), that the blues master has recorded with a backing band without sacrificing his characteristic, monotonous beat. Along with an absolutely awe-inspiring version of the Leroy Carr track “Blues Before Sunrise” stands the indestructible “Boom, Boom” — here buffed-up by Joe Hunter’s piano — which became the unofficial anthem of British Invasion bands like the Animals and Them. Eleven remastered analog tracks. Comes in a heavy duty cover with an updated, authentic version of the original artwork. 180 gram vinyl.
