Metallic skate punk vets Strung Out are releasing a new acoustic EP, Black Out The Sky, on via Fat Wreck Chords. It features six new songs, as well as acoustic renditions of classics “Unkoil” and “Matchbook.” “Town of Corazon,” is exactly the kind of song you want when you hear a skate punk band is going acoustic. It’s still got choppy power chords, a big anthemic chorus, and punky melodic leads, just with a more tender approach. Singer Jason Cruz tells us the song “is about the heart as if it were a place.
